Lasers and TAD’s – The Clinical Assistant’s Role

(120 minutes)
Many orthodontists are realizing the benefits of providing minor surgical procedures such as soft tissue laser treatments and placement of Mini-Screw Implants or TAD’s in their offices. Without proper protocols in place, these types of appointments can upset a busy office schedule. As an assistant you can play a significant role by preparing the patient, as well as performing important tasks before, during, and immediately after the procedure. This presentation will help you to become a more valuable asset to your doctor by performing many of the steps that can be delegated to you so that the doctor can concentrate on the procedure itself and then continue seeing other patients.
Speaker: Dr. Depew

Meet the Six Misses of Risk Management

(90 minutes)
As an orthodontic team member you are on the front lines of patient interaction. Things you say and do are a direct reflection of your doctor….both for their benefit and to their detriment. Improper treatment or communication with patients can result in patient complaints leading to lawsuits, financial loss, and even loss of your doctor’s right to practice dentistry. Even if you are doing things legally and professionally, it can be perceived as faulty by some patients. This presentation will discuss areas of the practice in which team members can have direct impact on the doctor’s exposure to risk.

Win Over Price Shoppers Without Dropping Your Fees

(90 minutes)
We have all heard the saying “shop ’till you drop.” Many times in this down-turned economy, it seems as though new patients will shop until someone drops their fees. There are ways to overcome this and it takes a well-trained TC. An orthodontic practice’s fees should reflect the value their patients will receive. It is imperative in the orthodontic industry to keep high standards. Learn ideas and techniques on how to handle these patients and continue winning cases.
Speaker: Ms. Issiac

Increasing Production by Converting Pending Patients

Rather than considering these patients “lost causes” they should be treated as “hot leads”, until you hear otherwise. In this presentation, learn techniques and systems to keep these patients from falling throught the cracks. By implementing these techniques, you can be sure to signifcantly improve your practice production without taking up addition exam spots in your schedule.

Tending your Garden – Growing your Practice Through Your Observation/Recall Program

(90 minutes)
Encouraging dentists to refer children, and parents to bring children for an evaluation during the early mixed dentition is a must for an active practice. A system of monitoring these patients until they are ready for treatment is essential for future practice growth. Without proper follow-up, these patients can dry up and blow away. This presentation will help you in nurturing these patients to feel a part of your practice family and return to you for their future orthodontic needs.
